WRPS set the stage for the future of the tank waste cleanup mission, the Direct-Feed Low-Activity Waste (DFLAW) Program, by starting the Site’s first industrial-scale tank waste pretreatment system, the Tank-Side Cesium Removal (TSCR) System. In addition, the workforce is prepared to support vitrification, or immobilization in glass, through melter fabrication and waste canister transportation.
